I'm a very proud owner of a IS, and every often I get compliments from friends or some odd member of the public about how good it looks even though is a 12 year old car. Well, up until winter kicks in! The amount of white smoke that the exhaust generates is unbelievable while stood at traffic lights! I dont think mine is overly smokey but i have only noticed it because my last car didn't seem to smoke at all Had the same with mine too in the cold months.
I always assumed it was a condensation thing seeing as it was never a problem in warmer weather. The IS will smoke like hell in the cold. If its white then your ok it's just condensation etc. If its got blue or black in the smoke then it will be something more sinister!
I have to drive mine about 10 miles in this weather before it stops smoking :. As said just moisture burning off Actually, if it's white smoke then you have serious issues. White smoke indicates water in the engine, which could be a head gasket failure blue smoke is oil, black smoke is fuel.
However, if you're just talking about condensation, which I think you all are, then you're fine. Part n parcel of a stainless steel exhaust. Yeah condensation.
Mine does this too, same as my previous IS Very noticeable in the recent cold weather! I think more than just the colour of the fumes, the smell will be a big indicator if there's a problem.
A smell if its strong and distinctive might be cause for concern but otherwise nothing to worry about. Well tis the season to be jolly, fal la lala la la, fal la lalaHello everyone I have white smoke over here even its heated engine, not a lot of white smoke Sometimes Not at all sometimes pretty much even its warm engine and warm outside.
What could it be? Passed Nct month ago.
Have the same problem only had my car 2 months and mine is clear smoke I heard it's common for lexus nothing to worry about. Sent from my Iphone using Lexus OC. Yeah all depends how much "smoke" we're talking. If you can't see out if your rear view mirror for smoke them that's not normal. So what could be major problem it passed nct with same amount of smoke, so that could give a result as normal? You can post now and register later.

Ever since I first bought it, about 2 out of 3 times I started the car when it had been sitting for an hour or more like overnightit's blown a puff of blue smoke. I presumed it was the valve stem seals and so bought some to put in at some future time.
I did clean the PCV valve though and even tried a new one but it didn't make much difference.
I replaced the spark plugs a couple of months ago and noticed quite a bit of oil in the spark plug tubes. Also, I saw that the rocker cover was leaking a bit, so I bought a gasket set for it a few weeks ago.
I replaced the cover gasket as well as the spark plug tube seals inside the cover the other day. And lo and behold, it's fixed the smoke on start up problem. The plug tube seals had gone real hard like bakelite and so it obviously was affecting the PCV system. Thanks mate :D I'll keep this into account if I encounter a similar issue, as my name states my knowledge of cars isn't significant, so I don't know much of what you said, I am trying to learn but not getting anywhere fast, however this would be great to help identify the issue, so thanks again.
My IS is getting close to its service due date, withkm so hopefully no similar issues rise. Thanks again. I had the same problem with oil in sparkplug tubes and found my rocker cover gaskets were the same bakelite condition. Replaced them, however I still get a bit of blue smoke on start up. Still think valve stem seals are the cause - its a 20 year old car at this point - one of those jobs which I think is not critical, just need to be mindful of the issue.

But, a LOT of it can be a sign of big trouble. White smoke itself is not necessarily an indication that something is wrong.
Here are some of the most common things that cause it broken down by smoke thickness. Keep in mind that some smoke is completely normal at times. When you fist start your vehicle espescially in colder climates white smoke is normal until the engine warms up.
This white smoke is a natural part of the combustion process. You know your If something just feels off or different about it, take it in and have a mechanic look at it. A lot of white smoke typically indicates the following problems:. If your engine is running rough, and billowing out white smoke, it very well could be either a blown head gasket, or a cracked head. As the engine coolant leaks into the oil system, the oil looses its ability to properly lubricate the engine. Eventually the engine will seize.WHITE SMOKE OUT OF EXHAUST, TOP 3 REASONS FOR WHITE SMOKE demonstrated on DODGE
The symptoms of a cracked head are similar to that of a blown head gasket. A compression check is often recommended when determining whether or not a head or head gasket is blown. A blown head gasket is nothing to ignore.
If you feel like there is anything that you would like to add, please leave a comment below. Good luck! Thin Smoke When you fist start your vehicle espescially in colder climates white smoke is normal until the engine warms up.
Check the temperature gauge. If the engine is overheating currently, get it shut off as soon as safely possible. When the head gasket blows, it typically causes more than just white smoke. White smoke is often the most visible symptom of a blown head gasket. With uncommon pairings like Florida State versus Southern Miss in the Independence Bowl and Penn State versus Washington in the Fiesta Bowl, there's very little historical data to go on. Luckily, you can enlist the help of Vegas legend Kenny White. He learned the bookmaking business on his father's knee. By age 24, he was running a sportsbook and, at 26, he was setting lines for Vegas' biggest casinos.
White is as good as it gets spotting a winner. In fact, he's a blistering 15-6 against the spread in his last 21 college football picks and a two-time winner of the prestigious Stardust Football Invitational. There's no one better to help you make your college football bowl picks. Now, he's spent hours analyzing every bowl matchup and ordered every game by level of confidence. And he's only sharing it over at SportsLine. One surprise we'll give away: White is calling for Auburn to fall in the Peach Bowl to UCF in a game he has at the very bottom of his list, for one point.
Still, you need every point you possibly can to win your football pool. This one is all about who wants it more, and I'll take the Knights in an upset. Meanwhile, he's assigning a huge point total of 38 to the Independence Bowl between Florida State and Southern Miss, and backing the Seminoles to win.
SportsLine's advanced computer model agrees. It's calling for a 30-20 FSU win.
Chrysler 200: White Exhaust Smoke Diagnosis
Florida State is winning the game outright in 70 percent of simulations. Another college football pick he's high on: Michigan to roll South Carolina in the Outback Bowl. The Wolverines are 7. Don't be fooled by Michigan's two-game losing streak heading into the Outback Bowl. The Wolverines played Top-10 teams in both games (Wisconsin, Ohio State) and now face a South Carolina squad that lost to two un-ranked teams and only defeated NC State, Louisiana Tech, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Florida by one score.
And they just fired their offensive coordinator. White is also assigning a high confidence ranking of 32 to a team that's favored by less than a field goal. White is highly confident in the winner, but many people in your pool may be skeptical. Picks like these could be the difference between winning your pool and going home empty-handed. So which teams should you rank in which order in your football confidence pools.
And what slight favorite do you need to be all-in on. Visit SportsLine to see the full bowl confidence picks, and see what teams won't disappoint, all from the Vegas legend who has made his living analyzing football, and find out.

Larus had a difficult booking as we had people arriving at different times, we needed the 2 car hires to be split 6 ways and a few of us did different options at the end of the car hire.
He worked it out perfectly and well understood our sometimes complicated emails. The inclusions of Private Pick Up, mobile phones, GPS and inclusion of 2 drivers per car was a big seller to us. Booking with an Icelandic based company to do Iceland gave us confidence in having someone to easily contact if problems occurred.
What an absolute delight it was to deal with Larus, who well understood all our requirements. The day tour to Lake Myvatn - something Magic, was an absolute delight and our guide excellentNordic Visitor delivered everything that was promised on their website.
The marking of accommodation, route and attractions on the map in highlighter was fantastic and made it easier to plan our days. I really felt your booklet of Useful information and Iceland Highlights was very helpful. Iceland is a beautiful country, the people are friendly, the geology is unique and the history is very interesting.
I traveled with my sister and we were thrilled with your services. Your planned suggested route and booking of accommodations for us was especially helpful and what we were the most interested in. It left us able to focus on the sites we wanted to see and the things we wanted to experience. Alexandra was very communicative from the first booking inquiry I sent to the last minute addition of a Glacier Hike. You were also very patient and accommodating when my credit card company declined a charge.
We were sad we were unable to meet with Alexandra during our time there, but we just had too much to do. There were no problems and we had a tremendous time.
Thank you for a trip of a lifetime. I have already recommended you to a former colleague interested in a trip to Iceland and I am sure he won't be the last. I hope to get to use you again some day. We started with the Full Circle tour and customized it. I've never used a tour company before--I do all the trip planning in our family, and even though we were using Nordic Visitor, I did a lot of research and had some specific requests.
Larus was fantastic, answering my questions and making good suggestions about routes and places to stay. Nordic Visitor provides maps plus vouchers for all hotels, services, and tours booked through them. Their road atlas is crammed with historical information. Unfortunately, it goes around the ring road in a clockwise direction, and we were going counter-clockwise--which meant I had to figure out how to read it backwards. Even if you're using Nordic Visitor to do your bookings, it's a good idea to take some responsibility for your trip and get a good guidebook or do some internet research before you go, especially if you want to look for small museums that don't make the "highlights" lists.
Nordic Visitor lends you a mobile phone, preloaded with minutes. Look up the roaming costs to use your own phone (assuming you've got a GSM phone) in Iceland, and you'll see what a good thing this is.
We didn't use the phone a lot, but it was nice to know we had it, just in case there was a problem. Thus when retrieving a cluster, it's possible to specify that only a subset of fields be retrieved, by using any combination of the following parameters in the query string (unrecognized parameters are ignored): Fields Filter Parameters Parameter TypeDescription fields optional Comma-separated list A comma-separated list of field IDs to retrieve.
Each centroid has associated a pre-computed dataset that has been created using all the instances in the neighborhood. Each model separates between those instances that belong to the centroid neighborhood and those that belong to other neighborhoods.
Once you delete a cluster, it is permanently deleted. If you try to delete a cluster a second time, or a cluster that does not exist, you will receive a "404 not found" response. However, if you try to delete a cluster that is being used at the moment, then BigML. To list all the clusters, you can use the cluster base URL. By default, only the 20 most recent clusters will be returned.
You can get your list of clusters directly in your browser using your own username and API key with the following links. You can also paginate, filter, and order your clusters. Anomaly Detectors Last Updated: Monday, 2017-10-30 10:31 Anomaly detectors can be applied to a variety of domains like fraud detection, security, quality control, medicine, etc.
BigML anomaly detectors are built using an unsupervised anomaly detection technique. Therefore, you do not need to explicitly label each instance in your dataset as "normal" or "abnormal". When you create a new anomaly detector, it automatically returns an anomaly score for the top n most anomalous instances. The newly created anomaly detector can also be used to later create anomaly scores for new data points or batch anomaly scores for all the instances of a dataset.
You can also list all of your anomaly detectors. This can be used to change the names of the fields in the anomaly detector with respect to the original names in the dataset or to tell BigML that certain fields should be preferred.
Must be a number greater than or equal to 2 and less than or equal to 1000 (or 16 in development mode). All the fields in the dataset Specifies the fields to be considered to create the anomaly detector. The range of successive instances to build the anomaly detector. Example: "MySample" tags optional Array of Strings A list of strings that help classify and index your anomaly detector.
The minimum number is 1 and the maximum is 1024. Example: 256 You can also use curl to customize a new anomaly detector. Read the Section on Sampling Your Dataset to learn how to sample your dataset.
Once an anomaly detector has been successfully created it will have the following properties. Creating an anomaly detector is a process that can take just a few seconds or a few days depending on the size of the dataset used as input and on the workload of BigML's systems.
